This is a collection of features that the BFT-team wants to share with the user base to gain feedback.

The tool is not fully devoloped and there might contain bugs.

Both the User Interface (UI), naming and how the tool work might change during its lifecycle.

Note: Not all features can be guarantied to ever move from BETAand might even be removed from BETA if the feature do not gain traction.

Connect fire rating

This will automatically connect any fire symbol with underlaying linked instance.

For Fire Alarm Devices it will find the origin of the symbol and see if there is an instance (door/window/…)

with its own origin approximate 150mm from each other.

For Generic Models and fire compartmentation for walls, it is a bit trickier.

The wall beneath the compartmentation line must be the same length, with a small tolerance.

For walls that needs to be split, this tool will not work.

But, by running the tool, all symbols that are not connected due to various reasons

will receive the value “- “instead.

When running the tool, it is possible to choose from “Selected” / “All” (rarely use) / “Cancel”.

Calculated Evacuation Distance

This will add all the Length parameter of selected instances and write total length under Instance parameter Comment.

In the template that is included with BFT there is an Evacuation route family that can be used to show different evacuation strategies.

Select all instances and run the tool and all selected instances comments will have total length.

This will work on any family that has the parameter “Length”, such as Walls, beams, or any line-based family.

When receiving a new architect model, it is possible to control any object architect component,

that has been connected, if it has been moved or deleted.

Export: Exports an csv with all changes and deleted objects. Enables the possibilities to search for each object with the help of “Selection by ID” and create reports.

Tag Symbols: Tags each FSE component with the words “Deleted” / “Modified” on Comments. This enables the user to quickly use View Filters (There is a View Template included in the Revit Template) to find which objects been moved or deleted.

Delete Symbols: Automatically will delete all symbols that has lost their connection with the architect component.

Update Walls: will automatically update all modified fire compartmentation for walls.

Update openings: will automatically update all modified opening requirementsOn the bottom there is a list of all deleted and modified components and which floors. So it’s easy to go to the correct levels and update.

Resolve: Update an object been modified, select those objects, and resolve the issue. The object will go to their new location.

Reset: Reset selected symbols to it’s original connected location and the Fire_GUID will be updated.
